Tips for choosing photos

Create adorable pet-themed items using photos of your pets. Simply send us a photo of your pet, and our designers will beautifully cut out the subject and create a dot pattern design. While basically any pet and any photo will turn out cute, we also have some tips on choosing photos that are especially recommended.

Here are a few tips to help you with that.

① Straight face × Funny face

Recommended for those with expressive pets. Take one photo of their normal face, and another of them making a different face, such as a yawning face, a smiling face, an angry face, or a worried face. Using photos taken from roughly the same angle will make their expressions stand out more and result in a cuter finished product. Depending on the expression, either photo can be used as the main or secondary photo for a cute result.

② Strange posture × Strange posture

Recommended for those with pets that frequently change their posture using their whole body. Examples include "stretching," "curling up," "jumping," and "holding on." Rather than subtle differences, the more dramatically different postures are, the more beautifully those differences stand out when placed side-by-side.

③ Standing × Lying down

This is recommended for those who have pets that tend to fall asleep and roll around easily. A full-body photo taken from the side is best if possible. If you make the main image of your pet "standing" and include just one "sleeping" image as a secondary image, it will look like one pet is slacking off, resulting in a cute design.

④ Insert only one prop.

Wearing something on their head, holding something in their hand, or even being inside something – using photos of your pet with props is also a great idea. Combining a main image of your pet in their "normal state" with just one secondary image of them using a prop, or vice versa, can result in a unique and interesting design.

⑤ Facing right × Facing left

This is recommended for those who think, "I can't pinpoint any specific features on their face or body, but they're still cute!" You only need to send one photo (two are fine too, of course). Please send a photo of your face or body facing to the right (or left) for clarity. Then, our designer will flip it and create a dot design for both the right-facing and left-facing versions.

⑥ Only one is facing this way

This is recommended for those who have shy pets. By placing a photo of your pet facing away as the main image, and adding a photo of just one pet looking towards the camera as a secondary image, you can create a picture that expresses your pet's personality.

These were six patterns we introduced. Of course, there are many other patterns that can result in a cute finished product. Also, it's best to use photos chosen by the owner that best suit their pet. If you're unsure which photos to choose, please use the six types above as a reference.

Even just choosing photos can be a fun experience. I encourage you all to try selecting your own favorite pictures.
